FOR LAW FIRM MARKETING AND BD DEPARTMENTS

A working AI roadmap for your department, built with your team

AI investment usually starts with the lawyers. They get Harvey, Legora, or CoCounsel Legal. Then leadership turns to marketing and BD and asks for a plan, often without a budget line attached. We help you answer that request with two things: a written record of which tasks in your department AI should handle, and a rollout your team can run on its own once the engagement ends.

Most AI training for law firms is a lecture about what AI might do someday. Ours is a working session built around what your team does every day: pitches, proposals, content, competitive intelligence, client development. Guy Alvarez, a former lawyer with more than 20 years in legal marketing, runs every session personally and uses these exact workflows to deliver client work daily.

What We Deliver

Department Workshops and Bootcamps

Two hours to a full day, in person or virtual. Teams work in breakout groups to surface their own use cases, score them with our VERDICT framework, and leave with a ranked backlog of quick wins and bigger opportunities.

Retreat and Leadership Sessions

Keynote-plus-workshop formats built for department retreats and leadership offsites, customized to your firm's AI tools and policies.

Role-Specific Training

Focused sessions for the teams that need depth: business development, communications, creative services, marketing operations, competitive intelligence.

Follow-On Support

Consulting hours, use-case implementation, and our certification course for team members who want to go deeper.

Firms we've trained include Reed Smith, Womble Bond Dickinson, Blake Cassels & Graydon, Akerman, Withers, and Blank Rome. Several have come back for additional sessions across offices and teams; Withers has run the program in three regions.

AI Training for Law Firms

Hands-on AI training your marketing and BD team will actually use

No theory decks. Your team leaves with working prompts, a scored list of AI use cases for their actual work, and a plan for what to tackle first.

What An Advisory Engagement Covers

Find the work that needs changing

Through interviews and process reviews with your marketing and BD teams, we map how the high-volume work gets done today: pitches and RFPs, client alerts, and rankings submissions. Each one gets scored with VERDICT, our framework for deciding what to build first. You get a ranked list: the tasks you can change in a week and the ones that need IT and a quarter. We document the current-state process and requirements for each one, so nothing depends on what one person remembers.

Build the skills and workflows on the tools you already have

We translate the top use cases into clear functional requirements, then evaluate what your existing technology can support: the approved AI platforms, the CRM, the experience database. We work with you to build draft workflows or skills (the prompts, templates, and sign-off steps) that your team can run on real pitches and client alerts before anyone commits budget. Where IT needs to be involved, we prepare the documentation their review asks for and coordinate the hand-off, so implementation keeps moving.

Get the whole team using the same workflows

AI workflows stall when the people who draft pitches and alerts are asked to change how they produce them. We deliver demonstrations and hands-on workshops, write the standard operating procedures, and support your team through rollout with training, communications, and ongoing check-ins. The goal is one documented way the whole department drafts these materials with AI, so the quality of a pitch or an alert does not depend on which person wrote the prompt.

Who advisory fits

Advisory fits departments that are past experimenting and short of a standard: a few people using AI well, everyone using it differently, and no documented workflows the whole team can run. It also fits the CMO who has been asked to speak for marketing and BD on the firm's AI committee and wants a written plan to present there.

How engagements are structured

Engagements are scoped to the department, from a focused assessment over a few weeks to ongoing fractional advisory alongside your team. Every engagement produces documentation the department keeps: the ranked list of use cases, written procedures for each workflow, and a roadmap leadership can read on one page.
